    The possible reason that H. pylori infection causes or relates to extra-intestinal diseases could be due to immunological mechanisms involved.4 It has been speculated that, H. pylori, by inducing pro-inflammatory cytokine [interleukin (IL)-1 and -6, or tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-a] production and blood–brain barrier disruption, might influence the pathophysiology and therefore the management of epilepsy.7 On the other hand, for many patients with epilepsy no certain cause for seizure could be found, even after extensive investigations.
